About the Catalog . . .

Our image catalog offers some of the finest rights-managed stock photography available from professionals like John Terence Turner, Mark Harmel, Deborah Davis, Mark A. Johnson, Peter and Georgina Bowater, Joseph Pobereskin, Penny Gentieu, and Dennis Cox ( To name a few ). It will never be the world's biggest image collection, but it will always be an excellent one.

The tour below will help you efficiently navigate The Stock Asylum catalog.

Start Here . . .

	The first catalog page, reached from a link at the top left of the home page ( or click here ), offers two search approaches. Browse the collection with our unique menus or use the keyword search box on the upper left.
Browse with the Menus . . .
	Place your cursor over any image on any page. A menu appears. The first option always links to a larger version of the image. Other options link to related catalog pages. This approach works because we edit all our pages. There are some things computers don't do well. Making decisions about visuals is one.
Search with Keywords . . .
	Keywords may not be the best way to find images, but everyone can execute a keyword search, so we've added such a feature to The Stock Asyum catalog -- with our own twist, of course! We've keyworded our edited pages, not each image. We thought it might be better to show eight "right-on" images instead of 42 "not-exactly" images with eight "right-on" images. Let us know what you think.
See the Big Picture . . .
	Choosing "This Bigger" from any menu will bring up a large version of the thumbnail image. You will need to sign in the first time, but we've kept this simple. Three alternative selections are on every big image page. Sometimes the connection is obvious, sometimes more creative.
Find Licensing Info . . .
	If you find an image you want to license, simply place your cursor on it. A rollover appears with all necessary info as well as contact information for the photographer -- just in case you want to negotiate an assignment, too.
Search the Internet . . .
	If it's not in our catalog, why not search the web? Our keyworded Internet Directory lists pages from large and small collections everywhere. With very few exceptions, these are pages with actual images, not just search pages at the other sites. For the directory, click here.
