Much contemporary, fine art and vintage photography from SuperStock will soon be available to the consumer market through a new agreement with Art.com.

Art.com, which sells posters, prints, photographs, pre-framed art, original art and custom framing, is one of the largest online suppliers of consumer artwork in the world.

The company currently offers over 100,000 images to customers ranging from college students to professional decorators. Art.com said the addition of SuperStock imagery will "dramatically increase the range of images available . . . ."

The first SuperStock imagery will go up in early October. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Stock photography is moving into consumer markets with some companies offering images for cell phones and other electronic devices. Several firms provide inexpensive photos at price levels suitable for personal web sites while one English company, Geography Photos, sells images to schools for an annual fee of a little over $100 per school.

Workbook recently released a 230-page catalog called Framed Art for Spaces. It is the fourth edition of the art booklet that includes painting, photographs, prints, drawings and sculptures for corporate and other public art spaces.
