For New York photographer Butch Martin, creativity has been a lifelong endeavor. Martin recalls that even his childhood double vision did not stop him from pouring over the glossy fashion magazines of the day. And he still recalls his fascination with his mother's childhood career as a day player in the early days of Hollywood.

Martin's creative interests resurfaced at the University of Denver, where he earned a B.A. in mass communications in 1968. He went on to earn an M.A. in speech and dramatic arts, with a specialty in film, from the University of Iowa in 1970. Martin then embarked on a decade-long career in cinematography.

A desire for more artistic control led Martin to explore still photography in the late 1970's. He photographed throughout Europe for magazines like British Vogue, Linea Italiana, Vanity Italy, Madame Figaro, Marie Claire and Femme. His work has also been published in Creative Arts photography annual and Zoom magazine.

In recent years, Martin has focused on still productions for stock photography, but he recently started to blend his motion experience into the mix, creating motion stock photography for Corbis. His still stock photos are available at Workbookstock, Alamy and Getty Images.

He is a member of the International Center of Photography, Advertising Photographers of America and StockArtistsAlliance.
