If you want to be among the best in your profession, you had better understand the high-water marks set by your predecessors. In Western visual arts, that often means studying the European masters from the Renaissance to the early twentieth century.
This is exactly what travel photographer Cosmo Condina did on his first trip to Europe when he was in his early 20's. The results can be seen in the color, lighting and compositions of much of Condina's commercial and fine art work.
A professional shooter since 1985, Condina has become known for his subtly beautiful images from Europe, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada, Cuba and New Zealand. His commercial work, represented by Getty Images, workbookstock.com, Alamy, Mira and Tips, has been published thousands of times.
The Canadian photographer's fine art work is represented by Tatar Alexander Gallery in Toronto. His artistic work has been exhibited by a Rodman Hall National Art Center, St. Catharines, Ontario. Condina's photographs also have been exhibited at the Shaw Festival Theatre and Inniskillin Winery and the Pumphouse Art Center, all in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, which is the photographer's home base.
Condina has published a hardcover book celebrating the bicentennial of Niagara on the Lake, the first capital of Upper Canada. As a stock photographer, his work has been used by United Airlines, Molson's Brewery, Credit Suisse, Globus Travel, Discover Credit Card, Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation and Ontario Savings Bonds. Most recently, his work has been seen on Fuji Film billboards.
Condina was one of the founding members of the StockArtistsAlliance, a professional stock photography trade organization.
