About David Lawrence . . . 727.734.3884 With a degree in environmental biology, it is not surprising that David Lawrence often turns his camera lens toward "the beauty and simplicity of nature." But the Palm Harbor, FL, photographer is equally adept at shooting transportation, construction and other subjects for his list of corporate and editorial clients around the world. He explains he "specializes in photographing landscapes -- both natural and man-made."
Though he often uses popular camera formats, Lawrence frequently turns to panoramic cameras for his stock photography, which he markets through Mira/Creative Eye. "With a wide-view image the viewer feels a sensation of peripheral vision," Lawrence says. "They can look around at details or look at the whole scene. They can imagine being there." Lawrence says
he is particularly gratified by the use of his nature images in high-stress
areas like hospitals. He says finds satisfaction in "knowing that
an anxious MRI patient might experience the calming effects of one of
his peaceful garden panoramics."
The photographer's clients include McDonalds, British Petroleum, American Airlines, Time Magazine, Business Week, Travel & Leisure and Hallmark. His work has been featured in Photo Design, Photo District News, Studio Photography and The Best of Nature Photography book He is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, the International Association of Panoramic Photographers, StockArtistsAlliance and the North American Nature Photographers Association.
