Commercial photography with the immediacy of an editorial eye -- this is the essence of Jonathan Nourok's work. With a passion for photography that began in high school, Nourok won several prestigious photography awards while still in College, including College Photographer of the Year by the California Press Photographers' Association. He also was among the top ten photographers in the Hearst Photojournalism contest.

After graduating from California State University at Long Beach in 1986, Nourok joined the Simi Valley (CA) Enterprise for two years, then became a freelance shooter for a number of California newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register. His portfolio includes everything from still life and portraits to medical, nature and travel work. Currently, he spends a lot of time shooting flowers.

As a commercial, public relations and stock photographer, Nourok's work has been used by a range of impressive clients, including Mazda, Pepsi, Newsweek, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, Hitachi and others. His stock photography is represented by Stone (Getty Images), PhotoEdit, Picturesque, Corbis and ChromaZone.

Nourok is on the board of directors of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers and is the Education Outreach Chairman for StockArtistsAlliance.
